About Porter Road

We Do Things Differently, From Pasture to Plate.

From small American farms to our own Kentucky facility, the butcher block to your doorstep, we're connected to the people and decisions behind every cut.

We believe knowing where your meat comes from means knowing more than where it was raised. How were the animals raised? What happened after the farm? Who processed it, aged it, cut it and packed it?

That’s why we’ve built Porter Road to stay connected to more of the process. We work directly with small American farms, process and butcher the meat at our own facility, dry-age our beef, cut it by hand, and send it directly to customers across the country.

That connection—from pasture to plate—is what makes Porter Road different.

01 / The Farm

It Starts With Small American Farms.

We work directly with small, family-owned farms in the United States. These aren't anonymous suppliers at the other end of a purchasing system. They're farming partners we know, visit and work with around shared standards for how animals are raised. Our cattle and pigs are raised outside on pasture throughout their lives and never receive added hormones or antibiotics. They graze and have access to supplemental feed but never spend any time on a feedlot.

02 / Our Facility

The Farm Is Only the Beginning.

Knowing where meat comes from matters. But we also want to know what happens next. That's why Porter Road operates its own processing and butchery facility in Kentucky. It keeps us involved after the farm — through processing, aging, cutting, labeling and packing — instead of simply buying finished meat and putting our name on it.

03 / The Butcher Block

We're Butchers. Always Have Been.

Porter Road began behind the butcher counter. That craft still shapes how we work today. Our meat is cut by skilled butchers at our Kentucky facility — people trained to understand the animal, recognize each cut and get the most from it.

04 / The Wait

Dry Aged for extra flavor.

Most beef is wet-aged inside vacuum packaging. Porter Road chooses to dry-age its beef. During dry aging, moisture leaves the meat while naturally occurring enzymes help tenderize it. The result is the deeper, more concentrated beef flavor we're looking for. This is also why you will experience less shrinkage when cooking our meat.

Great Meat Can Take Different Roads.

There are excellent meat companies doing things differently from us. We think customers deserve to understand those differences. So rather than tell you which choices should matter to you, we'll tell you the choices we've made — and why.
